This multi-scope project included a full roof replacement, seamless aluminum gutter installation, a new entry door system, and a complete attic insulation upgrade, all designed to improve the home’s durability, energy efficiency, and long-term performance in Wisconsin’s demanding climate.
The project began with the removal of all existing roofing layers, followed by a detailed roof deck inspection to confirm the structure was sound and ready for the new system. Once verified, all required underlayments were installed to current building code standards. The new roof was completed using Owens Corning Duration Designer shingles in the Pacific Wave color, providing a bold architectural look along with a limited lifetime warranty. To ensure proper attic airflow and extend the life of the roofing system, the roof ventilation was upgraded to the Owens Corning VentSure ridge vent system. New seamless aluminum gutters were then installed to efficiently manage rainwater and direct it safely away from the foundation.
The entry door portion of the project involved removing a false double-door configuration and carefully patching the cedar board-and-batten siding to prepare the opening for a standard 36-inch entry door. A Mastercraft steel six-panel entry door, primed white and featuring an arch patina accent glass package, was installed with satin nickel hardware and a peephole for added security. The door system was completed with custom-bent white aluminum trim and a Larson Lakeview Splitview all-aluminum storm door, also finished in white with satin nickel hardware.
To improve the home’s energy efficiency, attic baffles were installed to create proper intake airflow paths, followed by the installation of Owens Corning blown-in fiberglass insulation throughout the attic. This upgrade brought the insulation level to the recommended R-60 value for Wisconsin homes, helping reduce heat loss in winter and improve comfort year-round. The project was completed efficiently, and the homeowner now benefits from a more comfortable, protected, and energy-efficient home.
