Absolute Home Improvements completed this roofing and exterior upgrade project on a single-family home in Grafton, Wisconsin. The project began with a complete two-layer asphalt shingle tear-off, allowing our crew to properly prepare the roof surface and ensure a solid foundation for the new roofing system.
After tear-off, we installed Owens Corning Duration 30-Year asphalt shingles in the color Brownwood. This shingle was selected for its durability, dimensional appearance, and ability to perform well in Wisconsin’s seasonal weather conditions. To support proper airflow and long-term roof performance, GAF-ELK Snow & Country Ridge Vent was installed along the roof peak to help regulate attic heat and moisture.
This project also included significant skylight improvements. Three existing front skylights were removed, the opening was centered and re-framed, and a single skylight was re-installed to improve both appearance and functionality. Interior repairs were completed with new insulation, drywall, texture, and paint to restore the finished living space. In addition, gutter heating cables were installed along the back of the home to help prevent ice dams and improve winter drainage performance. The work was completed efficiently, delivering improved protection, functionality, and comfort for this Grafton home.
Grafton is a growing community in Ozaukee County where homes are exposed to snow, ice, wind, and freezing temperatures during the winter months. These conditions make properly installed roofing systems, well-sealed skylights, and ice dam prevention solutions especially important for protecting homes from moisture damage.
