Absolute Home Improvements recently completed a multi-scope exterior renovation project on a residential property in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This project focused on improving durability, weather protection, and overall appearance by upgrading the garage siding, installing a new gutter system, and replacing the garage service door. The work was carefully planned and executed to ensure long-term performance and a cohesive exterior finish.
The project began with the complete removal of the existing wood siding and deteriorated wall sheathing on the garage. Once exposed, our team installed new 7/16 OSB sheathing to restore structural integrity and provide a solid substrate for the new exterior system. A house wrap was then installed to create a weather-resistant barrier, helping protect the structure from moisture intrusion and air infiltration.
For the siding installation, we installed Alside Charter Oak .046 mil premium vinyl siding in a double 4.5-inch clapboard profile, along with matching corner posts for a clean, uniform appearance. This siding system offers long-term durability and low maintenance while enhancing curb appeal. To complete the upper exterior details, Mastic triple 3-inch aluminum soffit panels were installed, providing proper ventilation, along with custom-bent aluminum fascia finished in Almond to protect the roofline and tie the exterior elements together.
Water management was a key component of this project. The existing gutter system was replaced with a lifetime-warranty 5-inch K-style seamless aluminum gutter system. We installed 3-inch by 4-inch aluminum downspouts to increase drainage capacity, all finished in matching Almond to coordinate with the siding and trim. Proper pitch and secure fastening ensured reliable performance and long-term protection for the foundation and exterior walls.
To complete the project, a new garage service door was installed. We used a Mastercraft flush panel steel entry door with a primed finish, selected for its durability and clean appearance. The exterior of the door was custom-wrapped in Almond aluminum trim to match the surrounding finishes and provide a maintenance-free, weather-resistant seal.
This project was completed efficiently and with close attention to detail. The homeowner was pleased with the improved appearance, enhanced protection, and long-lasting materials used throughout the renovation.
