Absolute Home Improvements completed this insurance restoration project on a residential home in Caledonia, Wisconsin, after severe ice damming caused extensive damage to the roof, fascia, and gutter system. The ice buildup became so severe that it pulled the existing gutters and fascia away from the home, resulting in damage to both the exterior and personal property. The project was approved through an Allstate insurance claim, and our team handled the restoration from start to finish.
We began by removing all existing layers of roofing and replacing damaged roof decking to restore a solid foundation. Owens Corning Duration asphalt shingles were installed in Estate Grey, providing strong wind resistance and long-term durability. To help prevent future ice damming issues, the roof ventilation system was upgraded with an Owens Corning VentSure ridge vent, improving airflow and attic temperature balance.
In addition to the roof replacement, repairs were made to the wood and aluminum soffit and fascia at the rear of the home. Additional aluminum intake ventilation was added to correct airflow deficiencies. The project was completed with new 5-inch aluminum gutters and 3-inch by 4-inch aluminum downspouts finished in Cameo to match the existing trim, along with a Gutter RX gutter protection system in white to reduce future maintenance.
